Sedation (Sleep) Dentistry

What is Sedation (Sleep) Dentistry?

If you have ever put off visiting the dentist because of anxiety and fear, you’re not alone. Millions of people are nervous when it comes to visiting the dentist for treatment. However, when you continually put off your visits, you’re only hurting yourself and your dental health. We offer quality sedative options to make your time with us as comfortable as possible.

Why is Sedation (Sleep) Dentistry needed?

Sedation is safely administered to those who find it difficult to visit the office without being in extreme fear and anxiety. You may suffer panic attacks before and during treatment, making it difficult to sit still in the dental chair. Some patients are undergoing surgical procedures or more complex treatments that require them to be asleep. Our sedative options are safe and monitored throughout the entirety of your appointment.

Who is a candidate for Sedation (Sleep) Dentistry?

Sedation, or sleep dentistry, is ideal for patients of all ages. We offer several different options, so there is virtually no age restriction when it comes to benefiting from this type of treatment. The goal with sedation is to improve your time in our office. We will consult with you to determine which sedative is right for you and how often you may want to have it administered.

What happens during the Sedation (Sleep) Dentistry process?

For our nitrous oxide sedation, a small nose mask is placed over the face. You will breathe in a sweet-smelling gas that will relax you and help to promote a deep feeling of calm and wellness. The effects last for as long as the mask is on, and we can keep it on for the entire procedure if needed. Oral sedation involves taking a small pill that helps to relax you. This pill is taken prior to your appointment in our office. IV sedation is best suited for patients undergoing complex procedures and surgeries, and who need to be fully asleep for treatment.

If you would like to come into the office for a consultation regarding sedation, call us today to schedule an appointment. We have low wait times available as well as an affordable budget plan for our patients. Our snack and beverage bar along with other amenities make your time with us comfortable.
